Hong Wei is a boy born in 1996. Hong Wei attends public school, and is a hardworking student. He puts in a long day at school but is also conscientious about helping at home. Hong Wei enjoys computer games, movies and good books. He has some good friends at school; he visits their homes and also brings them home to play at his house. Last summer Hong Wei was able to visit Australia for the second time. He really enjoyed doing some sightseeing and visiting with sponsors. Hong Wei's English is improving rapidly thanks to these trips and living in a bilingual home.

Liu Er is a girl born in 1998. Liu Er attends school at Xi Wang Le Yuan where she is one of the older children in the senior class. Liu Er has adapted well to family life. She is the household champ at Mario Cart and enjoys playing computer games. She enjoys cooking and running errands. Last summer she also went to Australia for an extended holiday. She gained more confidence in herself and improved her English skills. Liu Er speaks both Chinese and English at home.
