EAGLES' WINGS
I and II
"Ying de Chi Bang" I and II
"They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
they shall walk and not faint'.
Eagle's Wings (Ying de Chi Bang) is the name given to COAT Family Homes which are to enable the children that we sponsor to grow up in a family environment, especially those who are progressing towards adoption.
This is in order to create and maintain a family environment which is full of love and provides good boundaries for these precious children.
Eagle's Wings III was the first of these family homes and brought to fruition a dream, dreamt by Chris, Annie and Linda in 2006.
Since the launch of Eagle's Wings III in December 2006, two more homes have been purchased, refurbished and opened. Eagle's Wings I is now home to thirteen children and Eagle's Wings II is now home to fourteen children.
"Raising a Child in Eagles' Wings" sponsorship Program: $45 (Australian dollars) x 3 ( Families or Individuals) on a monthly basis.
This revised form of sponsorship covers all the child's monthly living expenses in Eagles' Wings. The "Raising a Child in Eagles' Wings" sponsorship program replaces the former 'child' and 'bed' sponsorship with the aim to simplify the sponsorship program. We need $135 (Australian) per month to keep a child in Eagles' Wings. By splitting this amount in three, it makes it easier for individuals or families to sponsor a child. We can also offer sponsorship at $20 (Australian) per month if this makes it easier for you to sponsor. With more people covering our children through the sponsorship program, our children will receive more love and the COAT family will become bigger and bigger over time. Thank you for your support and we look forward to partnering with you.
One of the best ways of helping many children, is to sponsor an ayi. It costs about $240 a month to employ an ayi now. The huge increase has happened for two reasons. Firstly, the Chinese government brought in a law that the basic pay of everyone has to be 550Y a month and then it is also law that all employees must have a pension fund, medical benefits and insurance for workers compensation as well as six months paid maternity leave. We hope that all our staff will only have one baby, but a law is a law and we must abide by it. These extra costs are nearly 400Y per month per staff member... bringing it to 950Y a month. That is a big change from the 450Y a month that we were paying ayis up until January 1, 2007. We also have to provide them with uniforms, pay triple time for official Chinese holidays (our babies still need feeding on October 1), a gift for Chinese New Year and International Woman’s day and even Christmas these days.
Given that our total staff numbers, at this writing, are 44, this is a bit scary and we need to champion this situation as soon as possible.
Because $240 a month is way out of most people’s budgets, we do have sharing of the same ayi, so that five people or groups can contribute $40 a month, the same as child and bed sponsorship.
