COAT INC ADMINISTRATOR

MARGARET MASON

When Margaret was a youngster she wanted to work in China. God has a great sense of humour - she finally got there just before she turned 60!
She has known Linda for a long time - as members of an organisation for young mothers and in later years Linda's husband (Greg) taught some of her children and Margaret taught all of theirs. She had read articles and heard Linda speak about her work in China and thought it would be a good thing to join one of the team trips.

So, in June 2006, she joined a large team for an adventure into China. This was a life-changing experience. On this trip, she fell in love with the children and the Director of the orphanage gave permission for the first of the foster homes to be formed.
At the end of October in 2006, she woke up one morning with the overwhelming feeling that she had had enough of teaching and there were other things she wanted to be doing. So, within a week she had handed in her resignation. About six weeks later Greg died quite suddenly. Margaret knew that he had done a lot of the background clerical work that kept COAT functioning smoothly and she felt very strongly that she should offer to help Linda with this. If she wanted a quiet, lazy retirement, that was a massive mistake, but she wouldn't have it any other way because it is such a great work in which to be involved.
Margaret returned to China in 2008 and 2009 and finds it very rewarding to watch the work and the children grow.
