Linda Shum
Linda Shum is the President and Director of COAT, she first visited the JZ welfare home in April 1998 with another organisation that was partnering with the welfare home. She fell in love with the children and vowed to work hard to improve their livelihoods and conditions. In those days a lot of babies did not survive because the environment did not lend its self to achieving this. When the other organization was unable to continue their work at the welfare home she was given the opportunity to establish an organization to take over the role of sponsorship raising, on-site worker support, teams co-ordination, special projects such as 'Eagles Wing's' and as a result COAT was established. Since 1998 Linda has been to the welfare home many times and continues to raise much needed funding for the on-going work that continues to benefit and improve the lives of the children.
