Towards the end of our 2015 trip to JiaoZuo, we ventured downstairs to the orphanage floors one Friday to see if there were any more children that might be able to attend our school.  Wandering through and meeting the children, finding out their names, ages, diagnosis...

I am here with my 16 year old son this visit.  It is the second time he has come to JiaoZuo with me.  This time, he saved his hard earned wages from an after school job and paid his own way - flight, new passport, visa, spending money ... the lot.  All three of our kid...

Over the last couple of years, we have successfully gained a number of local grants from the Chinese Government.  Our Chinese staff have worked collaboratively with the Director of the Orphanage to apply for these and we have been granted a considerable amount of money...

Seven years in and I still haven't quite worked out the criteria for which children have their adoption paperwork completed and which children don't.

Of course, the ultimate goal is to be able to support families to remain intact ... this would mean that children wouldn...

The first time I went into an orphanage I was struck by how quiet it was.  I couldn't believe that a room full of babies or toddlers could be totally silent like it was.  In orphanages all over the world, it is like this ... there are often many children and few carers...

I like this quote that I found recently on the internet and it made me think about our wonderful staff here at Eagles Wings and in our school Xi Wang Le Yuan.  An organisation really is only as good as the people that work within it ... our staff really make a differen...
